Immigrant Services of Champaign-Urbana is proud to announce that we are one of 12 local nonprofits to receive a 2021 Round Up for Good Grant from Common Ground Food Cooperative in Urbana.
The Round Up for Good Grant will be used to help provide groceries and rental assistance to our immigrant neighbors who continue to suffer under high rates of unemployment, especially during the pandemic. The need, as you can well imagine, is much higher now than it was pre-pandemic, and this grant will help us increase the number of families served.
We are thankful to our many supporters who are also owners of Common Ground. Winners of the 2021 grants were determined by votes of Co-op owners during their annual meeting in September. Funding for the grants come from Common Ground’s customers. Each month, customers round up their change at the cash register and donate it to the Round Up for Good fund. At the end of the month, the proceeds are awarded to that month’s designated recipient. ISCU will be receiving the funds raised during a month to be determined in 2021.
